Excercise
So, I am on day 10 of Jillian Michaels 30 day Shred. My fiance says that he sees an improvement, and he is very encouraging, so I am trying to do it everyday. I am still on level one, I think I might try level 2 tomorrow. This is an effort to look "shredded" for the wedding, I'm not apologizing for the wedding as a motivation. Now that I'm off work, I also figure what else am I going to do, I might as well do a work out video. I'm finding that the video is working better than my days last year of going to the gym. This is 20 minutes, I don't have to wast time driving anywhere, so it's time well spent. Jillian Michaels is tough, and it is a really good workout. I didn't think you could workout that hard or feel results in 20 minutes. We are also watching what we eat (less desserts), so hopefully the combination will be worthwhile. At the same time, I also bought the Jillian Michaels Yoga video, that one is super tough. It's longer than the shred, about 30 minutes. There are no cardio sections like on the shred, you do the yoga moves faster than you would in a true yoga session. The moves are the same, Jillian is more into the concept of using your body weight to build muscle. So we shall see! I called to make an appointment to have my wedding dress altered, the seamstress has not called me back, so maybe I can loose some weight before that happens. I know I should have started trying to loose weight well before this, the wedding being in April, but my last job was stressfull, and T is too good of a cook. :) I think it's worth trying, I'm not doing anything extreme, so we will see what happens.

Complaining
It has been a while since I posted, I thought I would get back into it. I thought Ottawa, and my job was safe from the economic slow down, but it was not. I have been laid off now for 2 months, right around the holiday season. The time of year makes looking for another job difficult, I don't want to pester people, more than likely they aren't getting back to me because they are on vacation. I think all bets are off next week. Then, I still haven't gotten an unemployment check yet. Very frustrating. It is impossible to get through to them on the phone, so I have waited long enough, I am going down there tomorrow and getting this sorted out. I don't understand what the hold up is.
I have been using this time to make some soap, and to knit, so more on that tomorrow, hopefully with some pictures.

This soap is out of this world! We just couldn't resist picking hese ducks up. I made the base of this soap white, as if the ducks have landed on the moon. This is a series of 4 different ducks, one in an orange flight suit, one in a white walking on the moon suit, and 2 aliens.
These soaps are sure to amuse anyone!

Dinosaur ducks
When we were making our duck selections, these were so original, we had to get them. This is the dinosaur ducks first appearance! They come in a set of 4 different dinosaurs.
The ducks are sitting in green soap that smells like green apples. The soap is cold process, I make it right from scratch using olive and coconut oil. The green colour is from green oxide.
These are sure to make bath time much for fun!

Duck week! Princess
I have decided that this week is Duck week! I have posted about the duck soap that I made for my friends bridal shower, but I have many many more duck soaps. This all started when I was on a soap supply web site, and saw the ducks and had to have them. They were just so cute! I tried them at last years craft shows, and I sold out. My boyfriend got in on the act and we sourced some really neat ducks, and kind of went nuts and ordered at least a hundred of them. As you will see, some of the ducks run in themes, I will explain as they come up.
Today I bring you the princess ducks. Perfect for little girls everywhere! They come in 2 colours, pink and purple.
These ducks are sitting in cold process soap made with olive oil and coconut oil with pink oxide as the colourant. The scent is Pink Sugar, it smells wonderfully like birthday cake. The ducks are flexible plastic and squirt water. A delightful addition to bath time! The bonus is you have to keep washing to release the duck from the soap.
